Update and Itinerary
As many of you know, the beautiful old growth stands of forests around Port Renfrew have been the center of a conflict between the logging industry and activists seeking to protect the forests. While we fully support a full moratorium on logging the last remaining stands of old growth forest on Vancouver Island, it has come to our attention that the logging company in question has erected a gate preventing access to Avatar Grove.
This means that we are not able to have our ceremony in that incredibly magical place. We are devastated to not be able to share it with you all. Instead, we will move our ceremony to the beach out in front of Big Fish Lodge, at 3 pm with our reception to follow.

With rising Covid numbers over the last week, we would like to reiterate our wish that you have had your first dose of the vaccine before you attend our most important day.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
Love,
Natalie and Adam

By all accounts, it was love at first sight.
It was beer and chowder night and Adam had it all planned out… well, he had food, drinks, music, and friends planned out… what he didn’t account for was the bombshell in blue Fluevogs who showed up at the door and stole his heart.
Natalie was Dave’s date, and Carly was Bryan’s… The plan was for Nat to meet Bryan, Adam’s bestie, but it only took Nat one quick glance at Bryan’s silky smooth legs and an even quicker glance at Adam ‘s well-groomed ginger beard and she knew which man she was going to meet that night…
Beer, chowder, caesars, tequila, good conversation, an accordion was brought out for some strange reason (how else do you melt a woman’s heart?), and fun was had by all.
Steve was also there.
Weeks later, the invitation came for Nat to meet Adam at Degnan bay…an overnight bag was all that was required. Nat, punctual as always paced the docks looking for Adam, wondering if she’d misunderstood. Looking out across the bay, she noticed a beautiful wooden 15 foot gaff-rigged sail boat being rowed towards her. The ginger was at the oars.
“Hop in” he said. She did…
They sailed to an enchanted Island; he cooked a delicious meal while she combed the beach for blue beach glass….the night passed beautifully.
They awoke to 35 knots of wind.
No one panicked. Adam gracefully hauled the 500 pound boat over the beach to the leeward side of the island (single handedly, without any complaining). They packed up the boat and donned their life jackets.
“Hop in” he said. She did…
The boat swiftly made its way out of the bay, only to be hit broadside by that 35 knots of wind as they rounded the headland.
“We’re going in” he said. They did…
The water was cold. Adam swam the boat in, Nat grabbed the bags. On the sandstone, they saw the tiller float away from them, along with a newly opened bottle of Kraken Rum…Freezing and sober, Nat got a fire going while Adam secured the boat. They dried off and regrouped. No one panicked.
Once the boat was bailed and they were warm and dry, Adam and Natalie jumped back in to their craft and pushed off from the blue beach glass shore and Adam rowed all the way home….
Natalie knew then that this was a good match, and the best first date ever.
(For those that know us well, this mishap was the first of several…All of which turned out to be the best dates ever.)
Fast forward six years and here we are. It’s 2019 and we want to celebrate our love with all of you! We hope you can join us in the big trees!
Some Housekeeping Notes
- Also, we have everything we need, so no need for a gift. The best gift you can give us is to show up! But if you insist and you feel like contributing to our honey moon, we will certainly put that to good use.
- We will be serving some drinks to share, both alcoholic and non, but if you’re the thirsty type we encourage you to bring your own.
